Ibrahima Konaté hopes to make a decision about his future soon and announce it in the coming months.

The center-back, whose contract with Liverpool expires in June, confirmed at a press conference in Baku ahead of the Azerbaijan-France match that his agents are still negotiating a renewal with the Reds, although he didn't reveal his intentions, sparking some intrigue when asked about it.

"I've seen a lot of things (laughs)! Apparently, Liverpool has made me a new offer, I don't know where that information came from... My agents are still negotiating with Liverpool. I hope to be able to make a decision very soon so I can announce it," said Konaté, who will start for France this Sunday in the inconsequential match against Azerbaijan, after securing qualification for the next World Cup last Thursday against Ukraine.

Konaté will be one of the most sought-after players starting in January, when he will be free to negotiate with any team. The defender has yet to renew his contract with Liverpool and has attracted interest from major clubs, including Real Madrid, who are closely monitoring his situation. The French international intends to resolve his future before traveling to the United States for the upcoming World Cup, where he is expected to play a key role in central defense.
