Kroos: If Real Madrid's players can help employees, pay cuts make sense

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has looked to clarify his comments about players not taking pay cuts and being able to decide what they do with their own money.

On Wednesday, Real Madrid released a statement whereby they revealed that the first-team players, those in Castilla and those in the basketball team would take a 10 per cent pay cut, while the other employees at the club will continue to earn 100 per cent of their salaries.

"It may not have been translated correctly or some may not want to understand," Kroos tweeted in relation to his previous comments on the matter.

"From the very beginning, my opinion, as you know me well, is this: if we can help employees and areas in the club, I think it is logical to give up part of our salary, something that has been proven today."
