Krzysztof Piatek is a Polish footballer who plays as a forward for Italian club Milan. Milan manager Gattuso describes Piatek as "a player who lives to score goals”.
He began his professional career with Zagłębie Lubin before joining Ekstraklasa club Cracovia in 2016, for whom he scored 32 goals across two seasons. In 2018, Piątek signed for Genoa in Italy's Serie A in a transfer worth €4 million. After 19 goals in 21 competitive games in his first half-season, he transferred to Milan in January 2019 for €35 million in Genoa's largest sale to date.
Fast forward a decade or so, and the 23-year-old is to be found locked in a thrilling Capocannoniere race with his former idol. Piatek’s prolific form, first for Genoa and more recently for AC Milan, has rocketed him to prominence and established the Pole, almost overnight, among the continent’s foremost marksmen.
