According to L'Équipe, the fire at the Swiss bar has claimed approximately 40 lives, and a young player from Metz suffered severe burns all over his body.
Metz Football Club officially announced: "Metz Football Club is deeply saddened to announce that trial player Tahiris Dos Santos was injured in the Crans-Montana fire.
The entire club sends its deepest condolences and best wishes to Tahiris as he battles his injuries."
The fire reportedly occurred at a bar in Switzerland during a New Year's Eve celebration, resulting in approximately 40 deaths and over 100 injuries.
Tahiris Dos Santos was vacationing in the mountains with friends, staying at one of their cabins. He suffered severe burns and has been transferred to a hospital in Germany for treatment.
