According to the latest report from L'Équipe, the President of Senegal has gifted each player on the Senegalese national team a bonus of €115,000 and 1,500 square meters of land.
On Tuesday, local time, tens of thousands of Senegalese fans flooded the streets of Dakar to welcome the Senegalese national team home. In the evening, the players went to the presidential palace for an official ceremony with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
Upon the team's return, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye presented each player with a bonus of 75 million CFA francs (approximately €115,000) and a 1,500-square-meter plot of land in an upscale suburb of Dakar.
The Senegalese coaching staff and football association members also received awards, each receiving 50 million CFA francs (approximately €75,000) and a 1,000-square-meter plot of land in the same upscale suburb of Dakar.
