LaLiga president Jabier Tebas is confident that Kylian Mbappe will be a Real Madrid player next season.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has been involved in a long-running transfer saga with the Spanish giants stemming back a number of seasons.

Mbappe rejected a move to the Santiago Bernabeu by signing a jaw-dropping £650,000-a-week contract with PSG in May 2022.

However, the 24-year-old appears to be keen on a move to Real Madrid next summer, and previously told PSG that he would not be exercising an option to extend his deal, which currently runs until 2024.

Speaking to Movistar Plus, as per Football Espana, Tebas has revealed his confidence over Mbappe switching to LaLiga next year.

He said: 'Convinced? Convinced, no, but it is destiny for him, for sure.

'A percentage (he thinks) that he will go to Real Madrid? I think that next year he will be at Real Madrid at more than 70 per cent or 80 per cent.'

Mbappe was put up for sale and forced to train separately from his team-mates during the summer window, with the club fearing that he could leave for nothing next summer.

But following talks, he returned to PSG's first-team set-up, and has scored eight goals in six appearances this season.

Reports have suggested that Mbappe could yet sign an extension until 2026 with the French giants.

The deal would include a release clause for next summer that would allow Real Madrid the chance to sign the French superstar.

Mbappe has scored 220 goals in 266 appearances since initially joining PSG on a loan in 2017 - in a deal which turned permanent one year later.
