Frank Lampard has hit out at France head coach Didier Deschamps for not allowing N'Golo Kante to return to Chelsea after the midfielder picked up a groin issue.
The 28-year-old suffered the injury while warming up for France's Euro 2020 qualifier with Iceland but stayed with the France squad for the rest of the international break.
Lampard revealed in his Friday press conference that Kante will now miss Saturday's Premier League encounter with Newcastle, something that has left the Chelsea manager frustrated by the whole ordeal.
'It's not a laughing matter, communication could have been better,' Lampard told reporters.
