Frank Lampard insisted Coventry City's 3-1 defeat to Tottenham would not affect his team, but he said the players would be brought "back down to earth" this week.

After back-to-back wins over Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United, Coventry were beaten by Spurs on Monday, handing them their first Premier League win of the season.
Jack Rudoni had cancelled out James Maddison's 14th-minute stunner, but goals in the second half from Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies were enough to beat the Sky Blues.
Coventry face a crucial run of league games against the sides around them, with the first of those coming against a struggling Fulham team at Coventry Building Society Arena.
They also face Sunderland, Everton, Crystal Palace and Leeds United, and Lampard is hoping to see a response from his team when Alvaro Arbeloa's side come to town.
"This result won't affect us. I can speak positively about the defeat because I saw the performance," Lampard said.
"I will bring the lads back down to earth in a way to say we have to produce this now. We've moved on a lot, Fulham will come and give us different problems and expectations."
Coventry were only able to register an expected goals (xG) total of 0.77 from their 12 shots against Spurs, with only one of those attempts, Rudoni's goal, hitting the target.
"Maybe the clinical edge and sometimes stuff just doesn't fall for you and that's football," Rudoni said of Coventry's struggles in the final third against Spurs.
"All we can do is keep applying pressure and working hard in the right areas and stuff. We're away from home. They're league position probably doesn't reflect where they are."
Fulham, meanwhile, picked up their first Premier League victory of the season last time out, with Alex Iwobi scoring the only goal in a narrow 1-0 win against Hull City.
The Cottagers had 76.2% possession against Hull, their third-highest on record (since 2003-04) in a Premier League match after April 2023 against West Ham (76.6%) and September 2023 against Luton Town (77.6%).
It was a result that relieved the pressure on Arbeloa, with reports suggesting that his job was under threat after an underwhelming start to his tenure at Craven Cottage.
Fulham youngster Josh King acknowledged the importance of the result, and he hopes it can be a platform for the club to build on in the coming weeks.
"I think we were really brave," King said. "We played as a team who knew what we had to get the three points. We worked so hard for each other from 0 to 90 minutes.
"That's where we have struggled before, getting the lead and keeping it.
"[Alex Iwobi] is a really special player and a joy to play with; for him to get the goal and help the team is massive.
"I think I would have liked to come away with something more for myself, like a goal or assist; they will come, but it was all about the team."
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Coventry – Jack Rudoni
Rudoni became the first player to score in back-to-back Premier League appearances for Coventry since John Hartson netted in four consecutive games between March and April 2001 against Spurs last time out.
He also finished with team-high totals for crosses (six) and successful dribbles (two), and you feel he will be key if Coventry are to return to winning ways in the Premier League.
Fulham – Josh King
King has been Fulham's brightest spark in an underwhelming start to their Premier League campaign, scoring more goals (two) than any other Cottagers player this season.
He has had more touches in the opposition box than any other player in the Premier League this season (48), and King will need to be at his best once again here.
MATCH PREDICTION: COVENTRY WIN
This is just the third ever top-flight meeting between Coventry and Fulham – they met in the 1967-68 season, with the Cottagers unbeaten in both (W1 D1). The Sky Blues were relegated from the Premier League in 2000-01 before returning this season, while Fulham's first season was 2001-02.
Coventry are backed to win this one, despite losing five of their seven Premier League games this season (L2), their most defeats at this stage of a league campaign since 1996-97 (also 5). They avoided relegation from the top flight on the final day of the season in that campaign.
Lampard's side have also conceded seven goals from outside the box in the Premier League this season – including three against Spurs last time out – more than twice as many as any other side. Only in 1992-93 and 1999-00 (both eight) have they shipped more from distance in a top-flight campaign.
Fulham picked up their first Premier League win of the season against Hull last time out. However, the Cottagers are winless in their last eight away league games, alternating between a draw (four) and defeat (four) each time.
They also lost to Ipswich Town and beat Hull City in their last two Premier League games. They are the first side to face all three promoted clubs in consecutive matches since Bournemouth in March 2024 (W2 D1).
This century, the only league season Coventry and Fulham have faced off was in 2021-22 when the Cottagers won the Championship title. However, Coventry completed a league double over them that season (4-1 home, 3-1 away), one of two sides to do so, along with Sheffield United.
OPTA WIN PROBABILITY
Coventry – 43.4%
Draw – 26.7%
Fulham – 29.9%
