A second half Lazio comeback handed reigning Italian champions Inter their first Serie A defeat of the season on Saturday night, with the final score 3-1.

Inter took the lead at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to an early Ivan Perisic penalty, a lead they held until the 64th minute when Ciro Immobile equalised for the home side, also from the spot.
In the 81st minute, the hosts went ahead with what was to prove the decisive goal. But, it came in rather controversial circumstances, at least according to the Nerazzuri players. With an Inter player down injured, both teams played on and Felipe Anderson helped himself to a tap in after Samir Handanovic parried Immobile's shot. There were then mass protestations and an on-pitch brawl as the Inter players felt Lazio should have put the ball out before going on the attack.
A late Sergej Milinkovic-Savic header added insult to injury for Inter and the bad blood didn't end at the final whistle, with arguments and brawls continuing, resulting in a red card for Lazio's Luiz Felipe.
It was a bad-tempered game and a result that means Inter failed to take the opportunity to overtake rivals AC Milan and that league leaders Napoli could put seven points between themselves and the reigning champions if they beat Torino on Sunday. Lazio, meanwhile, move up to fifth for the time being.
