As Bayern Munich prepares for FC Augsburg, it could have eyes on next week’s tilt against Liverpool.

As Bayern Munich heads into its weekend tilt with FC Augsburg, coach Niko Kovac was missing some of his key players at practice per FCBayern.com.

Coach Niko Kovac had the bulk of the squad at his disposal three days before the encounter with the side lying 15th in the table. Besides convalescent Corentin Tolisso, who is continuing his rehab following his cruciate ligament rupture, Arjen Robben, Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski missed the session. Manuel Neuer was back on the training pitch, but the netminder has yet to resume goalkeeping-specific training.

Tolisso’s continued absence from team training is expected and Neuer not doing goalkeeper-specific training is likely a precautionary measure. It is also likely that Robben is still battling his lingering thigh injury, while Lewandowski and Hummels could have minor knocks or are just simply being rested ahead of an important stretch of games.

With Liverpool on the horizon, Kovac will have some key lineup decisions to make against Augsburg. Will he choose to rest the players he expects to use against Liverpool or will be give them one more game to gel?
