Former Oasis frontman and Manchester City fan Liam Gallagher has branded Stefan Savic a 'goofy looking c***' and threatened him on Twitter.
He wrote: 'Stefan Savic this is a threat if I come across you ya goofy looking C*** your dead MCFC.'
The 49-year-old posted the message just after midnight on Thursday, the day after City knocked Atletico Madrid and Savic out of the Champions League.
Savic, who played for the Premier League side briefly back in 2011-12, was at the heart of a game punctuated by physicality and confrontations on Wednesday night.
He appeared to headbutt Raheem Sterling in a 22-man brawl at the Wanda Metropolitano towards the end of the game.
A rough challenge from Felipe on Phil Foden caused a theatrical reaction from the young England international.
He rolled back onto the pitch before Savic attempted to haul him up and drag him off again, prompting both teams to come together in a melee.
The defender was issued with a yellow card for his part in the fracas and the bad blood continued down the tunnel afterwards.
According to BT Sport, Grealish was making his way back to the dressing room when Savic ‘wrestled’ him before police broke them up.
‘Savic has gone up the tunnel, Savic has found Jack Grealish up the tunnel we believe, the police have now gone up the tunnel, there’s wrestling going on up there,' said presenter Jake Humprey.
The game ended up 0-0, meaning City advance to the Champions League semi-finals against Real Madrid, who they will play for the right to face Liverpool or Villarreal.
Evidently, Gallagher was still angry at Savic's antics more than 24 hours later, prompting his online threat to the man from Montenegro.
