Game of the week: RC Lens v Stade Rennais, Sunday 19:45 (UK)
Marseille’s ambitions of competing in this season’s Champions League have already been dashed, but they will have to quickly put that disappointment behind them. Metz’s start to the season has been horrid. Just like last week against Rennes, little is expected of the newly-promoted side against Marseille, but they could spring a surprise against a deflated OM. Lyon are another side in desperate need of a win, even this early this season. Les Gones’ opening matchday defeat to Strasbourg piles more pressure on Laurent Blanc. Les Alsaciens, meanwhile, will be hoping to build on last week’s victory against Monaco side that netted four in their opener against Clermont. Lens and Rennes take the headline slot. The former suffered a shock loss to Brest last week, whilst the latter will be hoping to build on last weekend’s 5-1 thrashing against Metz to solidify their Champions League credentials.

Metz 1-3 Marseille
Lyon 2-1 Montpellier
Toulouse 0-2 PSG
