Jesse Lingard has been handed a stinging rebuke by the manager of FC Seoul just three matches into his K-League sting.
Seoul picked up their first three points of the new season on Friday evening as they beat Jeju through goals from Stanislav Iljutcenko and Sung-Yueng Ki.
They had picked up one draw and one loss from their first two matches, failing to score a goal with the early signs for the season looking bleak for Lingard's new side.
The former Manchester United and Nottingham Forest winger was again used as a substitute and manager Kim Gi-dong was left unimpressed with his cameo against Jeju.
'Even though he came on as a substitute, he didn't work hard and avoided tussle,' Gi-dong said.
'The name value has no meaning on the pitch. I will tell him this exactly'
Lingard will hope to earn his first start for his new club after coming off the bench in the opening three matches of the season.
He will also hope to have found a more permanent home following his move to Asia in February, and he set an attendance record on his debut.
Prior to the transfer, he had not played a game of football since April having left Nottingham Forest for free at the end of the season.
He'd been without a club since June and not completed a full 90 minutes since August 2022.
Now, however, it is hoped that he can finally find happiness, something the former England man has expressed on occasion that he is striving for in his career.
Seoul return to action after the international when they travel to Gangwon.
