Liverpool are one of the clubs Joshua Kimmich is said to be open to joining if he leaves Bayern Munich this summer.

The Germany midfielder, 28, has entered the final year of his deal at the Allianz Arena and continues be linked with a transfer. Unsurprisingly - and not for the first time - Kimmich is understood to be attracting Premier League interest in the wake of his current contract situation.

Various reports have indicated that Kimmich is receptive to the idea of leaving Bayern in the transfer window, with the German giants ready to cash in given new head coach Vincent Kompany is pursuing a deal for Fulham enforcer Joao Palhinha.

Kimmich has been on the radar of Liverpool previously, and Sky Sport Germany report that the Reds are among a cluster of elite European clubs that the playmaker would consider joining if a transfer away from the Bundesliga were to materialise.

As well as Liverpool, it's outlined that Kimmich would also consider a move to Premier League champions Manchester City or Arsenal. The prospect of joining Barcelona or Real Madrid is also said to appeal to the midfield maestro.

Liverpool are expected to be active in the transfer window with Arne Slot now at the helm after former boss Jurgen Klopp stood down from his role last month. It remains to be seen if strengthening in midfield is a priority for the Dutchman and the Reds new sporting director, Richard Hughes, given Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch were all signed last year.

That hasn't stopped Kimmich being linked with the Reds - or from former Anfield favourites from endorsing such a move. That includes John Barnes and Danny Murphy, the latter of which implied that the midfielder would be a 'dream signing' for Klopp.

“I think they are ahead of schedule,” Murphy said back in January to BBC. “They transformed the whole midfield in the summer with four new signings and they have all had an impact at times this season.

“Three of the four came from clubs where they haven't been under pressure and they have adapted well. I think they will sign a centre half because they have lost Joel Matip for the season.
