Liverpool hit by Mane fitness scare before crucial PSG UCL clash

Liverpool have been left sweating over the fitness of Sadio Mane ahead of Wednesday's crucial Champions League clash away to Paris Saint-Germain.

The forward has been struck by illness ahead of the match at the Parc des Princes, with Liverpool prepared to give him every opportunity to prove he is capable of playing.

Mane will be assessed as Liverpool train at Melwood on Tuesday morning before flying to France in the afternoon.

Jurgen Klopp's men can still finish anywhere from first to fourth in Group C of the Champions League.

But if they beat the French champions and Napoli defeat Red Star Belgrade, they will advance into the last-16 of the tournament.

PSG have fitness concerns of their own, with both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe absent from their 1-0 win over Toulouse on Saturday.

Boss Thomas Tuchel is, however, optimistic on their chances of facing Liverpool.

Speaking prior to Saturday's victory, Tuchel said: 'We will not take chances but we have the possibility that they will play against Liverpool on Wednesday. I think it’s possible.'
