Liverpool have, on Wednesday, been credited with an interest in Jeremy Doku.
Who is Jeremy Doku?
Jeremy Doku is currently plying his trade in Ligue 1 with Stade Rennais.
He would join the French outfit in October of 2020 from Belgian side, RSC Anderlecht.
Anderlecht have produced some top talent over the years, including the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans.
And at 19, Doku could well become yet another success story of the Anderlecht academy.
Doku would feature 30 times in Ligue 1 last term, scoring two and assisting four to help Rennais to a 6th-place finish – missing out on European football by two points.
Liverpool eyeing Jeremy Doku
Now, Doku, who is contracted to Rennais until 2025, appears to be attracting the interest of Premier League side, Liverpool.
According to journalist Pedro Almeida, Liverpool want to open talks with Stade Rennais for the winger.
In terms of a potential fee, it is believed that the French outfit want no less than €45m for Doku.
Doku is a natural right-winger, but he is fairly versatile, able to play on the opposite flank and even through the middle.
This would likely make him a useful asset for Liverpool and also ensure he is able to get more game time whilst competing with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
However, with Diogo Jota, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino also currently fighting it out for a spot vs Liverpool’s traditional front-three, you would assume Jurgen Klopp and co. would look to sell at least one forward before bringing in Doku.
