Liverpool have finally had the chance to lift the Premier League title and attention will now turn to next season as the Reds prepare for a potential defence of their crown under Arne Slot

Liverpool have rounded off a stunning 2024/25 season in style. The Reds finally got the chance to lift the Premier League title after their final outing of the campaign against Crystal Palace.

Ismaila Sarr and Mohamed Salah exchanged strikes at Anfield to conclude a very productive campaign. Following that, It was certainly an occasion to remember for Liverpool fans, after seeing Virgil van Dijk finally hoist the trophy into the air.

Former boss Jurgen Klopp was back at Anfield to join in with the celebrations. It was also a memorable occasion for defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, who made his final appearance for the club ahead of his summer exit.

With the 2024/25 season rounded off, players will jet off to all corners of the globe for much-deserved holidays. But club chiefs might be keen to turn their attention to next season and potential signings.

Jeremie Frimpong looks set to become a Liverpool player and could potentially be followed by Florian Wirtz. With that being said, take a look at the latest transfer news and rumours from Anfield:

On the topic of Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Wirtz, he might face frustration should he arrive at Anfield. He has already been told that he won’t be able to wear his dream shirt number as a Liverpool player.

Wirtz’ favoured number 10 shirt is already worn by Alexis Mac Allister on Merseyside. The Argentine midfielder appears unlikely to let the shirt go, which would leave Wirtz looking for more options.

His current shirt number at Leverkusen - the number 27 - is currently vacant. The shirt has not been worn since the 2022/23 campaign, with Darwin Nunez the previous owner.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has broken his silence on the Reds' plans for the upcoming summer transfer window. Speaking after his side’s draw with Palace, the Dutchman said: "I don't know if it's going to be a lot but we know, the club, Richard [Hughes], the ownership, we are all aligned on what we are trying to achieve.

“It is already ,very very positive that we kept Mo and Virgil and a few others that we are trying to sign look positive. We are very happy with the squad that we have.

“This club has always shown that if they can strengthen, that's what we do. Big summer or not, it is already big because we won the league.”

"Of course nothing would be possible without my family — I don’t know what will happen in the next week but, Cherries family, thank you."
