Flamengo maintained their unbeaten run ahead of their last-16 clash with FC Bayern München with a dramatic late equalizer against LAFC.
2025 Club World Cup

Match Report
Wallace Yan secured a dramatic last-gasp draw for CR Flamengo, just two minutes after Denis Bouanga thought he had grabbed LAFC's first victory of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
This game was a dead rubber, with LAFC already eliminated and Flamengo confirmed as Group D winners. But they played out highly entertaining affair at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, in which the woodwork was hit an incredible five times.
The game sprung into life almost immediately as the post was struck on three occasions in the first 15 minutes, through Flamengo stars Danilo and Giorgian De Arrascaeta, as well as LAFC midfielder Marky Delgado. Then on the half-hour mark, Flamengo forward Pedro rattled the crossbar after LAFC goalkeeper Hugo Lloris lay on the ground injured after colliding with one of his defenders.
The frame of the goal was hit for a fifth time — and by the fourth time by Flamengo — in the 69th minute when De Arrascaeta pinged the crossbar with a powerful dipping long-range effort.
A goalless draw appeared inevitable before Bouanga broke free to give LAFC a shock lead in the 84th minute, but Wallace Yan broke the Major League Soccer club's hearts moments later with a classy finish.
With this draw, LAFC have ended their Club World Cup campaign on something of a high note as they battled to their first point. Meanwhile, Flamengo stayed unbeaten to maintain their momentum ahead of their Round-of-16 tie with FC Bayern München at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday, 29 June.
LAFC head coach Steve Cherundolo says: "I'm not disappointed at all with the effort of our guys, they put everything into this game, they played in a smart way, with passion. We knew we would have chances. We lacked a little bit of composure in the final third but our set-pieces were dangerous and we defended like lions. I think it's a fair result and I'm proud of our team."
