Louis Saha recommends Manchester United sign Karim Benzema

Louis Saha has recommended that Manchester United sign Al-Ittihad forward Karim Benzema (36) this January, however, according to Foot Mercato, there is little chance of the Frenchman making a swift departure from Saudi Arabia.

Benzema arrived at Al-Ittihad to much fanfare in the summer, and whilst he has 12 goals and five assists in 20 games, the former France international’s level and commitment have been called into question.

The 36-year-old’s future has been brought into question even further over recent days after he missed training with the club in Jeddah on the 28th and 29th of December. This began to spark rumours about his long-term future in the Gulf State. However, his player’s entourage confirmed that the absence was down to a foot injury when contacted by MARCA.

Former Manchester United forward Saha believes that the Red Devils should capitalise and sign Benzema. “Benzema would change Manchester United’s attack, and it’s exactly what they need right now. He would definitely score goals and also guarantee better team play. For now, it’s just a dream, but Karim is still very professional,” Saha told BettingOdds.com.

However, according to Foot Mercato, Benzema will not leave the Gulf State this winter, having only arrived just a matter of months ago. Saha’s dream of seeing Benzema in a Manchester United jersey will likely remain just that.
