The relationship between Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier and the club’s Sporting Consultant Luís Campos is “no longer as solid,” according to L’Équipe.
PSG have lost nine games in all competitions this season, their latest coming against FC Lorient at the Parc des Princes, after which Campos called for a “reaction.” Les Parisiens’ title is not yet secured, and after Olympique de Marseille’s 2-1 victory over AJ Auxerre, PSG’s lead at the top stands at five points, with five games remaining.
According to L’Équipe, things aren’t serene behind the scenes either. There are disagreements between the president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, and Campos, whilst the latter’s relationship with Galtier is reportedly “no longer as solid.” The duo worked together at Lille OSC, winning the title in 2021, and Campos was responsible for bringing Galtier from OGC Nice to the Parc des Princes at the start of the current campaign.
Campos’ future at the club is in doubt, but perhaps not as much as Galtier’s position. It was reported in early April by L’Équipe that Galtier had two games to save his job. Whilst the Frenchman looks set to remain on the sidelines until the end of the season, so long as Les Parisiens’ title doesn’t come under threat, his departure in the summer looks sealed. What that means for Campos is unclear.
