Lyon's £60m striker Moussa Dembele 'prefers Man Utd over Chelsea'

Manchester United are the front runners in the chase for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports.

M.E.N. Sport understands that United will continue their pursuits of Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham this summer, despite the financial instability as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

A striker may also be on the agenda when the transfer window reopens, especially with the future of Odion Ighalo remaining uncertain.

It's claimed that the striker, who has netted 22 times this season, would cost £60million and that he would prefer a move to Old Trafford rather than Chelsea, who are also said to be interested.

While admitting that the next transfer window will be unrecognisable to those that have come before it, Solskjaer has previously said United could 'exploit' the transfer market amid the pandemic.

Lyon could be one such example as they have failed to qualify for European football after Ligue 1 was cancelled due to coronavirus and president Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted he may have to sell his best players.

"I am going to do everything to keep the players, but players who are programmed to play in Europe could want to go elsewhere because we don't have European football," he said.

M.E.N. Sport understands that Dembele, along with RB Leipzig's Timo Werner, are under consideration by United but no contact has been made as of yet.
