On March 12, a report from "Mundo Deportivo" claimed that Barcelona's maximum budget for pursuing Julian Alvarez is 100 million euros.

Previously, Barça president Laporta had talked about Julian Alvarez in an interview, saying that although the Argentine star is excellent, they would not pay a skyrocketing-high transfer fee for him.
Now, Barça are unwilling to pay more than 100 million euros in fixed transfer fees and variable bonuses for a striker, which also means that the maximum budget they have set for pursuing Julian Alvarez is 100 million euros.
The report further stated that no matter who Barça ultimately chooses as their new striker target, they also need the player to actively promote the deal while they take action.
