Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has branded last season a "disaster".
Maguire was back for last night's Carabao Cup quarterfinal win against Charlton Athletic.
He said, "Manchester United want trophies. This club aims to win, but that was too long ago. It's been too long for fans, staff and players.
"We have to take every competition seriously. This season we still participate in all tournaments.
"Last season was a disaster in all competitions. We strive to improve, we know that we must improve, but the most important period is yet to come, and we must perform well when it comes."
