Maguire, who is recording "The Rest Is Football" podcast in New York, said it was his longest break since his England debut and that he was not used to it, but the club would provide players on vacation with a home training schedule.
"The team told us to report back on Wednesday, July 9th. This is the longest break I’ve had since making my England debut. While it’s nice to relax, I always feel a little uncomfortable with so much downtime.
I have six and a half weeks off this time. In previous years, I usually only had three weeks before the first warm-up match, but this year the preparation period has been extended, giving me plenty of time to gradually build up my fitness.
The club will provide us with home training plans and GPS devices to monitor our progress, tracking our training activity throughout the break."
