Match Report

Manchester City were denied a last-gasp winner by VAR as Lucas Moura's goal secured a 2-2 draw for Tottenham, ending the Premier League champions' winning run.

Lucas scored 19 seconds after coming on from the bench to level things up at 2-2, but Gabriel Jesus thought he had settled Saturday's thriller in stoppage time.

In scenes reminiscent of April's Champions League epic, however, City were denied a 16th straight league win when VAR spotted a handball by Aymeric Laporte.

City had hit the front through Raheem Sterling, with Sergio Aguero nudging the home side back ahead after Erik Lamela's equaliser.

And, with Bernardo Silva having hit the crossbar and Danny Rose making a goal-line clearance, City's misery was compounded when Jesus' would-be winner was chalked off.

20' GOAL! Man City 1-0 Tottenham (Sterling)

Bernardo Silva gets down the right flank just a touch before nipping the ball back for De Bruyne. He then sweeps the ball towards the back post with his first touch, making it look like the easiest thing in the world.

He's picked out the run of Sterling - who has lost his marker, Walker-Peters - before heading it home into the far corner.

23' GOAL! Man City 1-1 Tottenham (Lamela)

Ndombele gestures to his team-mate to come and get the ball, and Lamela obliges, before running towards the top of the box.

He manages to curl his shot around the back of Gundogan, which catches Ederson off-guard and he doesn't have the time to get across and make the save.

35' GOAL! Man City 2-1 Tottenham (Aguero)

Second goal, second De Bruyne assists and some questionable Spurs defending.

Bernardo Silva slips the ball in for De Bruyne down the right, who gets in between Winks and Rose. He lifts his head and picks the run of Aguero in the middle.

Once the cross is at his feet, there's no mistaking that Aguero will tap home - which he does - with Alderweireld left scrambling to keep up.

56' GOAL! Man City 2-2 Tottenham (Lucas)

Moura does indeed have an instant impact!

He comes on just before a Spurs corner, which Lamela delivers, and Moura gets inbetween Zinchenko and Walker before nodding the ball into the back of the net.

65' Heated exchange between Aguero & Guardiola

There's a bit of a confrontation between Aguero and Guardiola as the striker makes his way to the dugout and Aguero isn't happy that he was substituted.

Guardiola is still talking to him a few minutes later amid a bit of a heated exchange between the two.

92' GOAL DISALLOWED! Man City 2-2 Tottenham (Jesus)

De Bruyne delivers, and Laporte heads it on. The loose ball falls to Jesus who dances into some space before sweeping home.

But the goal is going to VAR... GOAL DISALLOWED! Oh my word... The goal has been disallowed!

As Laporte put his head down to head the ball back for Jesus, the ball touched his arm on the way through, which is a huge spot and huge decision from VAR.

After a minute or so, Michael Oliver signals that the goal is ruled out for handball and we are back to 2-2. Incredible, incredible end to this game, especially after VAR was not used to give Man City a penalty in the first half.
