Manchester City are considering a move for Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos on a two-year contract, according to reports.
The Spanish centre-half, who has scored over 100 goals for Los Blancos, could leave the club later this summer as his contract expires on June 30 - with no agreement currently in sight.
Meanwhile, City are targeting a new centre-back this summer due to Eric Garcia's imminent departure to Barcelona, while reports are linking Aymeric Laporte with an Etihad Stadium exit.
And according to ESPN, City boss Pep Guardiola is in awe of Ramos' leadership qualities and will offer the 35-year-old a contract should he not renew at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ramos would reportedly be offered a two-year deal at the Etihad Stadium with the option of either a third year should performances be of an acceptable level, or a move to City's MLS sister club New York City FC.
The report also claims a meeting is set up for Friday between Ramos' representatives and Real president Florentino Perez, in order to resolve the Spaniard's future.
The defender is said to be after a two-year deal to remain in Spain, but Real tend to give only one-year rolling contracts to players over the age of 30.
Ramos has spent the last 16 seasons in the Spanish capital with Real and has led them to five LaLiga titles, four Champions League trophies and four more Club World Cups.
But the veteran defender has struggled with several long-term injuries over the course of the season, which forced Spain manager Luis Enrique to leave him out of the country's European Championships squad for the summer.
Ramos would compete with City's first-choice duo John Stones and Ruben Dias at the back, with Nathan Ake and now-Spanish international defender Laporte as back-up.
Reports on Monday claimed City are preparing a sensational overhaul of their squad following their disappointing Champions League final defeat to Chelsea over the weekend.
City trio Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling and Laporte are said to be unhappy with the amount of game time presented to them under Guardiola this season, despite the club winning the Premier League and Carabao Cup trophies this term.
Sportsmail exclusively revealed last week that England international Sterling and winger Riyad Mahrez could be used as potential high-profile sales to make room for major incomings such as Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.
