Man City's Kyle Walker ribs Buakyo Saka with Arsenal leading Premier League

Man City defender Kyle Walker jokingly asked national team-mate Bukayo Saka whether Arsenal would 'stop winning' games at some point.

England's 26-man squad selected for the World Cup arrived at the national side's base at St George's Park yesterday afternoon, ahead of their flight to Qatar this morning.

And cameras captured the moment that the two England internationals linked up for the first time and the City star asked a rather awkward question to his league rival.

As the England squad made their arrivals at St George's Park, Walker was sat down when Saka came over to him and the City right-back asked: 'Are you guys [Arsenal] going to stop winning?'

The Arsenal winger laughs off the question and says: 'Don't worry about that now! You feeling good?'. Walker responds with a smile and a nod before Saka goes to greet other team-mates.

Clearly, the winger's priorities currently lie with the national side and not with Arsenal - given their World Cup opener against Iran is just six days away.

The Three Lions squad met up at the national side's training ground on Monday before departing this morning - to crowds of cheering fans - and flying to Qatar.

Walker's query comes after the Citizen's lost pace on league leaders Arsenal following their shock home defeat to Brentford on Saturday.

Bees striker Ivan Toney - who was omitted from Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad going to Qatar - scored a brace to earn all three points at the Etihad.

Mikel Arteta's side, meanwhile, cruised to a 2-0 win over Wolves later that day and saw their lead at the top of the table extend to five points.

It means that the Gunners will sit top of the Premier League table for the first time in 15 years as England's top flight takes a break for the World Cup.
