Manchester United defender Teden Mengi is joining Luton Town.

The 21-year old has had spells on loan at Derby County and Birmingham City previously but the move to Premier League new boys Luton will be a step up having played most of his football with United at U23 level.

Luton have been in talks with Arsenal also for Rob Holding who had offers from Mallorca and Sevilla.

Mengi is joining on a permanent deal for undisclosed fee.

United are continuing discussions over a loan fee with Chelsea for Marc Cucurella - after Chelsea initially asked for £7m - and have lined up Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir for £4m as they sell Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace.

They have made an approach to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on loan but the Italians are reluctant to loan and want a fee. United have other options such as Liverpool target Ryan Gravenberch at Bayern Munich.

Ideally they would also like to bring a forward in on loan to replace Mason Greenwood who has been the subject of multiple enquiries.
