Jacey Carrick, son of Man United legend Michael, took another step in his burgeoning career as he captained the club's Under 16 team in a tour game.
Carrick Jnr has been gaining rave reviews over recent times for his performances for the club's youth teams, which have often come alongside Wayne Rooney's son Kai.
The pair impressed at the recent SuperCupNI where both Wayne and Michael were watching - and Jacey was subsequently selected in United's squad for an academy visit to Hong Kong.
The trip, which comes as part of United's partnership with The Hong Kong Jockey Club, sees United's Under 16 team complete a week-long cultural and football exchange programme as part of the JC Youth Football Academy Summit.
Two matches were organised for the tour, and in the first game on Friday against a Hong Kong Premier Youth League select side, Carrick was given the captain's armband.
The United youngster posed alongside the opposing captain and officials ahead of kick off in a photo that quickly went viral on social media.
The match was a dramatic encounter, with United forcing penalties after fighting back from 3-1 down in injury time to draw 3-3.
The Red Devils then emerged victorious 4-3 on spot kicks which sparked jubilant scenes at the full-time whistle.
United will now take on the Hong Kong, China Under 16 Representative Team on Sunday.
Speaking ahead of the trip, United's Academy Director Nick Cox opened up on how beneficial it is for the club's youngsters.
'The Academy Summit in Hong Kong continues to be one of our most exciting and valuable international experiences each year,' he told the club's website.
'It remains a standout opportunity for both our players and staff to grow through a diverse mix of competitive fixtures, high-quality training, fan interaction, and cultural exploration.
'These experiences are instrumental in shaping well-rounded individuals, both on and off the pitch.'
Carrick's exploits come after his peer Kai Rooney was bumped up three age levels to make his debut for United's Under 19 side at the age of 15 last week.
During the clash, which was the start of the club's Mladen Ramljak Tournament campaign in Croatia, United secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Rapid Vienna.
The 15-year-old forward, who has been fast-tracked from United's Under-16s , played against opponents up to four years older during the game.
Kai, who can play either as a No 9 or out wide, also featured alongside a number of the club's most promising youth players – among them 14-year-old striker JJ Gabriel, the Nike-sponsored sensation nicknamed 'Kid Messi'.
Meanwhile, speaking about his son after the aforementioned SuperCupNI tournament, Rooney Snr said: 'He just plays, that's what he's always done.
'It's unfair to expect too much - he's only 15. But he handles the pressure of his surname very well.'
Kai joined United's academy in 2020 and has steadily progressed through the age groups.
His playing style has drawn inevitable comparisons to his father, with coaches praising his movement, finishing, and ability to find space in the box.
