Manchester United have reportedly made a ‘firm offer’ to sign Barcelona starlet Ilaix Moriba.

The 18-year-old, who has been with the Spanish giants since the age of seven, is a product of the famed La Masia academy and has made four appearances for the first team.

All of those came since the turn of the year with Ronald Koeman handing the central midfielder his debut against Cornella in the Spanish Cup in January.

Moriba appeared twice in La Liga, making an impact with an assist in both games.

According to Mundo Deportivo, United and RB Leipzig are competing to sign the player Moriba, whose contract expires in 18 months.

However, the report adds Moriba may choose to remain at Barcelona to repay the faith shown in him by head coach Ronald Koeman, who has placed his trust in the club’s youngsters during a difficult season.

Moriba came on as a substitute as Barcelona secured a dramatic extra-time victory over Sevilla on Wednesday to book their place in the Spanish Cup final.

The Catalan club are all but out of the Champions League but have found form in the league, closing the gap to leaders Atletico Madrid to five points.
