Berrada believes that the root cause of Amorim's coaching failure at Man United was his overly rigid tactical thinking and inability to adapt flexibly.

Man United CEO Berrada was in New York last week to attend the Financial Times Weekend Forum before traveling to Boston to watch England's 0-0 draw with Ghana.
A forum participant posted on LinkedIn about Berrada's comments on "why the former coach failed."
The participant's post read: "The problem was not tactics or player talent, but excessive stubbornness. The coach took over the team midway through the season without a full pre-season preparation and was under intense external scrutiny throughout. Precisely at the stage when flexibility and adjustment were most needed, he clung to his ingrained ideas and refused to change." Berrada also liked the LinkedIn post.

When Man United sacked Ten Hag in October 2024, Berrada strongly advocated for appointing Amorim, and the club paid Sporting Lisbon a £10 million termination fee to secure him.
Amorim has always been obsessed with the three-center-back system; in Premier League history, only Conte's Chelsea in the 2016-17 season have won the league title with this formation.
Man United paid a total of £16.7 million in severance to dismiss Amorim and his coaching staff. Earlier this month, Milan officially announced Amorim as their new coach, and Man United's final pre-season friendly will be against Milan on August 15.
Reporter Olga Safina revealed that Berrada also cited a view from his former Man City colleague Guardiola at the New York forum: "When the talent of the players in the team reaches a certain level, what truly makes the difference is the club culture."
Berrada joined Man United two years ago, and since then, several former Man City staff members, including Wilcox, have followed him to the Red Devils.
The former Man City COO frankly admitted that, as a high-profile public figure at Man United, his every move is now over-interpreted by the outside world.
He added: "If you smile after a loss, people will say you don't care about the game; if you're expressionless, they'll accuse you of being indifferent and not caring about the team."
