Man Utd name Jadon Sancho asking price after star gives PSG green light

Jadon Sancho has given Paris Saint-Germain the green light to sign him - but Manchester United won't let him go on the cheap.

Sancho, 24, is back in Erik ten Hag's squad after the pair buried the hatchet at the beginning of pre-season. United's £73million signing fell out with Ten Hag in September 2023, leading to his exile and subsequent loan move to Borussia Dortmund in January.

It was back in Germany where Sancho rediscovered his form and helped Dortmund reach the Champions League final. The Bundesliga giants were keen to re-sign the 23-time England international permanently but he ultimately returned to Old Trafford.

That hasn't stopped speculation surrounding his future, though, with PSG emerging as potential suitors. French outlet RMC Sport claim that Sancho has said 'yes' to the Ligue 1 champions but United are demanding a cool £51.4m to part ways.

Sancho isn't the only player who the two clubs are discussing, as United remain interested in PSG midfielder Manuel Ugarte. The Uruguayan only joined from Sporting Lisbon a year ago but is understood to be available this summer.

Although United have already made four new signings, Ten Hag would ideally like to bring in a long-term replacement for 32-year-old Casemiro before transfer deadline day, with Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong also a target. It's been claimed that PSG also want £51.4m to sell Ugarte, so perhaps a swap deal could be on the cards which would see Sancho get his move to Paris.

Sancho missed a penalty in Saturday's Community Shield defeat to Manchester City after coming on as a late substitute. During pre-season, Ten Hag suggested that the 24-year-old was in his future plans at United, having put last season's bust-up behind them.

"We spoke well. Everyone can make a mistake," the Dutch boss told AD Sportwereld. "If the player reflects on this well, you draw a line and move on. This club needs good players, and one thing is certain: Jadon Sancho is a very good player. I hope that we will still click and that he will contribute to our success."

United kick-off their Premier League campaign at home to Fulham on Friday night, with three new signings potentially making their debuts. £36m striker Joshua Zirkzee was on the bench for Saturday's loss while defensive duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui arrived from Bayern Munich earlier this week.
