Manchester United transfer target Ferdi Kadioglu sent a message to his admirers with a fine goal in the Champions League qualifiers.
The Turkish international is currently playing under Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce. While the prospect of playing under 'the Special One' would excite most players, he has also been linked with moves to both United and Arsenal.
Erik ten Hag's side were reportedly keen on an approach for the 24-year-old left-back and are said to have already set up a meeting with his representatives. Kadioglu was one of Turkey's brightest stars at Euro 2024, playing every minute of their run to the quarter-finals.
In a Champions League qualifying clash against Lugano, Kadioglu sent a message to his admirers that he has all the tools to be a success at the highest level with a wonderful strike.
Kadioglu received a pass 40 yards from goal in the left-hand channel before advancing towards the box. He shifted the ball onto his right foot and drilled a powerful effort into the bottom corner from outside the box. It proved to be vital as Fenerbahce emerged 4-3 winners.
His strike provided United and Arsenal fans with a flavour of what he can do, should he link up with one of the Premier League giants this summer. According to Turkish media, the Gunners are understood to have tabled an offer for the wing-back in June.
It's believed he opted to hold fire on making any decision until after Euro 2024. It appears he is still no closer to making his decision, despite the summer tournament having come to an end earlier this month.
United will likely have to shell out if they want to secure the services of Kadioglu – and they'll have to convince former Red Devils boss Mourinho to part with him. The Portuguese boss is believed to be keen to hold onto the dynamic defender.
The Turkish giants have been ultra ambitious in the transfer window, already securing the signings of Oguz Aydin, Rade Krunic, Levent Mercan, Cenk Tosun, Caglar Soyuncu, Allan Saint-Maximin and Youssef En-Nesyri.
Fenerbahce sporting director Mario Branco also said: "We managed to attract one of the biggest names in world football, the only coach in the world to have won all three European competitions.
"We know what profiles the coach wants. Thanks to our club president, we are in a position to attack the transfer market how Jose Mourinho requires."
United essentially played the entirety of last season without a recognised left-back. Shaw suffered from numerous injuries while his understudy Tyrell Malacia has been a long-term absentee.
