The transfer window is certainly hotting up for Manchester United.
With yesterday's fixture announcement for the 2021-22 Premier League season, it's already less than two months until the new term begins, and the Red Devils will be targeting title no. 21.
For that to be achieved, though, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is almost definitely going to need some reinforcements.
Even with local rivals and champions Manchester City to chase down, the pressure behind United from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool will no-doubt be fierce as clubs look to make up ground in the top-flight table.
Sancho receives Fergie seal of approval
With the Jadon Sancho saga rumbling on during Euro 2020, plenty of people connected to the club are having their say on the 21-year-old winger.
But arguably no opinion is more paramount than that of Sir Alex Ferguson's.
The Scot won 38 trophies in 26 years in charge at the Theatre of Dreams and was responsible for bringing in young stars such as Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Now the 79-year-old has given his verdict on the Borussia Dortmund man ahead of his potential move to Manchester this summer.
Ferguson told German outlet Sportbild when speaking about the Euros: "I think a lot of Jadon Sancho, with his one-on-one duels, as an assister and scorer, he is extremely dangerous.
"He has so much potential, he helps the team," said the legendary gaffer.
"That’s why he’ll be valuable to England over the course of the tournament."
Sancho has racked up 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances for BVB, averaging a direct goal contribution almost every game.
£78m is the reported price this summer after negotiations snagged last year, and it seems Ferguson wouldn't be against him plying hid trade at Old Trafford come the opening day against Leeds.
Donny out the door?
Despite only being at the club for 12 months, Donny van de Beek could be departing for Barcelona this summer according to Sport.
The Spanish outlet claim that the 24-year-old's representatives have made it clear that their client could be 'seduced' by a move to the Camp Nou, regardless of whether it was permanent or not.
Van de Beek is said to want a change of scenery due to enduring a difficult first year in England in which he was handed just four Premier League starts after arriving from Ajax for a reported £35.1m.
Barca manager Ronald Koeman coached the midfielder while he was in charge of the Netherlands and recently missed out on Georginio Wijnaldum following the Dutchman's decision to join Paris Saint-Germain instead.
With the Blaugrana looking to reclaim the La Liga title after two years without it, they're looking to continue strengthening following the arrivals of Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia from Manchester City.
If van de Beek does indeed leave, it'll be the end of a disappointing spell despite such a promising start when he scored on his Red Devils debut.
The Heat is on
Although he won't grab as many headlines, Tom Heaton's return to Old Trafford is seemingly imminent, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reporting on Twitter that the Aston Villa goalkeeper has completed his medical ahead of a free transfer this summer.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper left United in 2010 after failing to make a first-team appearance following five years in their acclaimed academy.
The Italian journalist says Heaton will sign a two-year contract with his former club.
The goalkeeping department could be much-changed over the next campaign as David de Gea and Dean Henderson are still both not guaranteed to be first-choice and the contracts of back-ups Sergio Romero and Lee Grant are set to expire without renewal.
Heaton is expected to play a bit-part tole but as showcased at Burnley and Villa, is more than capable of filling in if needed.
