A 23-year-old man has appeared in court after Raheem Sterling's home was allegedly broken into while the star was at the World Cup.
Emiliano Krosi, from Southend-on-Sea in Essex, faces 33 charges of conspiracy to commit burglary.
One of those charges relates to the alleged burglary of England star Sterling's £7million home in Oxshott, Surrey - which was reported to cops on December 3 last year, during the World Cup in Qatar.
Krosi arrived late for a 10.30am hearing at Guildford Crown Court after the van transporting him from HMP Wandsworth broke down.
He was set to enter a plea but did not as his barrister Graham Blower was yet to review the 40-page case summary.
The bearded Albanian national, who sported a buzzcut and was wearing a grey prison-issue tracksuit, used an interpreter.
He spoke only to confirm his name and was remanded in custody ahead of a further case management hearing on November 3.
A 10-day trial was set by Judge Rufus Taylor for February 14 next year. Prosecutor Laurence Imrie was given until October 6 to serve all CPS evidence.
Sterling was forced to race back from Qatar to be with his family following the horror.
It meant the 28-year-old missed the Three Lions' win over Senegal in the Round of 16 as he dashed back to comfort his family.
Watches worth £300,000 and jewellery pieces allegedly were taken.
Sterling's terrified fiancée Paige Milian, 27, was looking after their two kids when she raised the alarm.
It's understood no one was home at the time but police were reportedly alerted to missing items as soon as the occupants returned.
Surrey Police believe the gang thought Paige and the kids were still in the Middle East supporting the footballer - but they had actually returned shortly before.
Sterling, whose home is near Chelsea's Cobham training ground, said at the time: "I beat myself up that I didn't keep my family secure.
"It's one thing I said I would always do, so it wasn't a nice feeling.”
The dad of three added: "I couldn't live with myself if anything had come to pass from it.
"It was something I meant to do before going to the World Cup and I didn't so I was beating myself up about it.
"It's the most scary thing to know with the age of the people living in my house. It's not a nice feeling."
