Matt Turner has officially landed at Arsenal, joining the club for £5.75million from New England Revolution.

With the paperwork completed in February, the American has completed the MLS season before his transatlantic move.

The goalkeeper, who turned 28 on Friday, has finally arrived in London, as confirmed by Arsenal's Twitter account.

The Gunners wrote: 'From New Jersey to North London… Welcome home, Matty Turner.'

The club has confirmed that he will wear the No 30 shirt for Arsenal, and will be available for pre-season training imminently.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta told the club website: 'Matt is an experienced goalkeeper who will bring high quality to our squad. He has shown in recent years in both the MLS and at international level with the United States that he is a goalkeeper who will give us added strength going into next season.'

Turner has a long-term contract with the Gunners, which will see him fighting Aaron Ramsdale for the starting role.

He has 18 caps with the American national team, including playing all six matches as the USA went on to become 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup winners.

And Arsenal fans declared their love for him last week when it was reported by Sportsmail that he refused to sign a Tottenham fan's shirt after his final New England Revolution appearance.

Turner becomes Arsenal's third signing during this transfer window, following winger Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, who signed for an undisclosed fee, and midfielder Fabio Vieira, who joined from Porto for £29.9m.
