There is an agreement in principle between Inter and Mauro Icardi over a new and improved contract according to a report from FCInterNews.it.
The parties are set to extend their relationship by a further two years through to the end of the 2022/23 season and Icardi has been offered a mouthwatering annual salary of €7 million, an increase of €2.5 million on his current deal with the club that was signed back in 2016.
The countdown until Icardi puts pen to paper and further commits himself to the club is well and truly on although it is not disclosed in this particular report when he is likely to sign on the dotted line. Other reports that have done the rounds have suggested during this month while others have stated sometime during October instead.
Since arriving at Inter in the summer of 2013 from Sampdoria, Icardi has scored 107 goals in 184 competitive outings in a Nerazzurri shirt.
