Liverpool want Aurelien Tchouameni – but Kylian Mbappe's decision to stay at Paris Saint-Germain could take him away from the Reds.

Liverpool beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 on Sunday afternoon, doing their part in their bid for the Premier League title.

However, Manchester City produced a stunning fightback to come from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2.

The title stays at the Etihad Stadium and Liverpool must now pick themselves up for the Champions League final against Real Madrid.

Liverpool may well bring in some big signings this summer to try and close the gap to City, with Tchouameni wanted.

Liverpool want Aurelien Tchouameni

Tchouameni has become an absolute sensation for Monaco this season and is now one of Europe's top young midfielders.

The 22-year-old can play as a holding midfielder or box-to-box player and has record three goals and two assists this season.

Tchouameni now seems primed for a move away from Monaco – but his destination is unknown.

There were claims from Julien Maynard of Telefoot in France that Liverpool were leading the race.

Foot Mercato have an update and they state that Real Madrid are pushing to beat Liverpool to Tchouameni.

It's even noted that Kylian Mbappe now wants Tchouameni to join him at PSG and is 'seduced' by the idea of teaming up with the midfielder.

Mbappe and Tchouameni play together for France and could end up joining forces with PSG.

Mbappe has just renewed his contract with PSG and may now have a bigger say on potential signings.

If Mbappe gets his way, Tchouameni could be joining him in the French capital this summer.

Liverpool still have hope given that RMC Sport claim there is a rough agreement in place for Tchouameni to join the Reds, but the fierce competition is a major threat.
