Premier League legend Michael Owen has called for Rasmus Hojlund to be given a chance at Manchester United.

Hojlund, currently on loan at Napoli, is loving life in Italy and is currently joint fifth top scorer in the league with 10 Serie A goals as his side chase down Champions League football.
The Danish star arrived in Manchester from Atalanta in a £72M deal in 2024 and scored just 4 Premier League goals in his first season.
At Napoli, the 23-year-old has notched 14 goals and contributed a further six assists in 40 outings and with the Italian side having an option to bring him in for around £38M he may just stay after the summer.
However, speaking on Premier League productions, Owen admitted that he believes the striker should be given a new chance after the club’s revival under manager Michael Carrick.
“I don’t care who you play up front, it’s very hard to judge when the team aren’t functioning. Strikers are the end of the chain, if the chain is broken, it’s pointless in many ways. I would love to see Hojlund and see what he can do now. He played in a Manchester United team that was broken and didn’t have any links and played poorly. Who’s to say he’s not really good? He’s doing really well in Italy now.
“Sesko... it was hard to judge but now that chain throughout the team is actually working, you are seeing a different type of player. I just wonder how much wastage there has been for many years. Everyone says the purchases have been poor and that might be the case but sometimes they might not get a fair crack of the whip because they don’t get the service.”
United now just need two points from their remaining four games to confirm their place in next season’s Champions League where Carrick may need Hojlund in his squad if he wants to rotate between 4 competitions.
