Latest Arsenal news takes a closer look at this season's loan army and who could be handed a debut this weekend with as many as five deals completed so far this summer

Arsenal had relative success with their loan army last season and now the plan is to repeat the trick

Having said that, several youngsters such as Marcelo Flores and Miguel Azeez didn't get enough game time, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has since been released after suffering relegation with Southampton whilst Nicolas Pepe, Runar Alex Runarsson, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Marquinhos and Cedric Soares have all returned from their respective spells but have no long-term future at Arsenal.

So with the Gunners' loan army class of 2022/23 now a thing of the past, it's time to look ahead and the players to keep an eye on as the new campaign progresses with five deals already completed which means there is the potential for debuts to be handed out this weekend.

The same could apply to young striker Billy Vigar and talented goalkeeper Hubert Graczyk with Eastbourne Borough and Slough Town in National League South action against Hampton & Richmond Borough and Maidstone United respectively.

As confirmed by Motherwell, Mika Biereth will wear the number 24 shirt after completing a season-long loan deal on Thursday which means he's in contention to make his debut on the opening weekend of the Scottish Premiership season against Dundee with manager Stuart Kettlewell delighted to have secured the striker's signature.

"I think anyone looking at Mika’s goalscoring history, can see why we were interested in him," he said. "He has scored goals at every stage of his young career. Mika is an exciting young talent for the future and I feel this loan move is the perfect next step for him to show what he can do."
