Liverpool are attempting to seal a deal for Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez and it appears one of his family members has inadvertently an imminent move for the Hungarian
Milos Kerkez will ‘soon’ become a Liverpool player if his brother is to be believed. The Reds are attempting to seal a deal for the Bournemouth defender as boss Arne Slot continues a revamp of his squad.
Talks are ongoing between the Reds and Bournemouth, with the Cherries demanding around £45m for the defender. And it appears that a deal is close to completion according to Kerkez’s brother.
He shared a post from another account on his Instagram story with the caption reading: “Milos Kerkez, soon to be a new Liverpool player, has revealed which club he supports."
Kerkez’ brother is not the only one who has dropped a hint about the left-back’s future. His international teammate Dominik Szoboszlai has also teased fans that the defender could be on his way to Anfield.
Asked for an update on a deal by Nezmeti Sport, the Liverpool playmaker replied: "I don't know about him... for now.”
Kerkez’s arrival could spell bad news for the future of Andrew Robertson, who has already been linked with an exit to Atletico Madrid. Speaking recently, he revealed that he has held talks with Liverpool over his long-term future at the club.
He said: “We have discussed [my future], of course we have. We’ve had good discussions, me and the club, but what the future holds, I’m not sure.
“All I know is I fly off on holiday and it’s well needed. I need a rest after a long season, and then I look forward to pre-season. That’s all my focus is.

“I can’t look too far ahead, I never have done that so I’m not going to start doing that now. I know the position I’m in, I know I’ve only got a year left.
"A lot’s getting spoken about it, a lot’s getting said, but my pure focus is focussing on being a dad for the next couple of weeks and enjoying that time with the kids. Then I’ll try and come back in the best shape possible for pre-season, and then we’ll see what the future holds when those decisions come.”
Kerkez might not be the only player confirmed as a new Liverpool star sooner rather than later. Florian Wirtz is expected to formalise a £100m+ move from Bayer Leverkusen over the next week.
The pair would become the latest arrivals across what has been a busy summer for the Reds. Giorgi Mamardashvilli is set to finalise his move from Valencia and has been joined by fellow goalkeeper Armin Pecsi on Merseyside - Caoimhin Kelleher having quit for Brentford. Liverpool also signed Jeremie Frimpong as Trent Alexander-Arnold ’s replacement after his move to Real Madrid.
