Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is an alternative defensive signing for Barcelona, according to a report in El Mundo Deportivo.
The Catalan-based daily carry the news on the front page of their Wednesday edition that the Sweden international is an ‘alternative’ to Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt.
De Ligt - the number one defensive priority for the Catalan giants - now appears to be set to join Juventus, while Paris Saint-Germain were also strongly linked to the defender.
His rejection of Barcelona was in spite of Blaugrana club president Josep Maria Bartomeu travelling to Amsterdam to convince the player, as he had successfully done with Frenkie de Jong.
Mundo Deportivo suggest Lindelof, 24, impressed for the Red Devils last season after a difficult opening campaign following a €35m switch from Benfica in the summer of 2017.
