Mohamed Sissoko had the chance to join Barcelona, but the transfer never materialized. The former Malian defensive midfielder recalled in an interview with "Winwin" that he had attracted interest from Barcelona while playing for Liverpool, and explicitly stated that he has no regrets about not wearing a Barcelona shirt.

"It's true, I received an offer from Barcelona while I was playing for Liverpool. Both sides held serious discussions, but the deal ultimately didn't go through because Liverpool refused to sell me, and I myself didn't want to leave because everything was going very well at the time," Sissoko said, recalling the negotiations.

When directly asked if he regretted not playing for the Catalan club, the former player's stance was firm: "Honestly, no, I don't regret it at all."

Thus, Sissoko closed the door on dwelling on that failed transfer. Liverpool's refusal to let him go, coupled with his own desire to stay at Anfield, ultimately prevented him from playing for a European football giant.

In this statement, the former Paris Saint-Germain player also analyzed the upcoming clash between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. He believes the match will be incredibly intense because both teams possess excellent players.

"I think it will be a tough match, because we're talking about Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona—two teams with incredibly talented players. I hope there will be many goals. This could be considered a final that came early," he stated.

The former player also praised the work of Enrique and Flick, ranking them among the world's best coaches, and specifically highlighted Yamal. "His performance has reached an astonishing level, and in my opinion, he is currently the best player in the world," he commented on the young Barcelona winger. Sissoko also backed him to contend for the Ballon d'Or: "He absolutely deserves it."

Finally, Sissoko considers Paris Saint-Germain one of the main favorites to win the Champions League for the third consecutive time. "If they continue to play like this, from what I see now, I think they can win the Champions League," he concluded.
