According to Corriere dello Sport, Molina is expected to arrive in Italy on Monday for a medical examination to complete his transfer from Atlético Madrid to Roma for a fee of approximately 13 million euros, plus 4 million euros in add-ons.
The two clubs finalized the deal earlier this week, and although reports on the transfer fee details vary slightly, the total amount is expected to be between 17 and 18 million euros.
However, Molina was a member of the Argentina national team that won the 2024 Copa América, so the club decided not to interrupt his delayed vacation. Molina will arrive in Italy on Monday, then undergo a medical and sign the contract.
Roma coach Daniele De Rossi confirmed the news to reporters after the team's 0-3 friendly loss to Brighton, stating that "Molina will be available from Tuesday" and will then be able to start training with his new teammates.
For the wing-back, this transfer marks a return to Serie A – he previously played for Udinese before joining Atlético Madrid.
Furthermore, since Molina is about to obtain a Spanish passport, he will not occupy a non-EU player slot in the Roma squad.
