Mourinho claims he will 'wear the pyjamas' of Spurs despite Mr Chelsea tag

Jose Mourinho has made his commitment to Tottenham clear by claiming he will 'wear the pyjamas of the club'.

The Portuguese manager was a surprise appointment for Spurs on Wednesday morning after his long association with their fierce rivals Chelsea — who he won the Premier League three times with.

And he has also managed Manchester United in the Premier League, along with other teams including Porto, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

That led to suggestions he could still be more closely associated with other sides but the 56-year-old tried to push that aside at his unveiling on Thursday.

While he was speaking at the press conference, Mourinho was asked whether he is still 'Mr. Chelsea'.

He replied: 'I think I am Mr. Porto and Mr. Real Madrid and other clubs as well.

'I am whatever club I am at. I wear the pyjamas of the club and sleep in them.

'I am a club man, but I am a many club man.'

Mourinho also seemed to suggest he would have a different attitude to his new role.

He added: 'I am humble. I am humble enough to try to analyse my career.

'Not just the last year but the problems and the solutions. The principle of my analysis was not to blame anyone else.'

Spurs take on West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon in Mourinho's first match in his new role.
