According to the latest report from Mundo Deportivo, Alvarez has chosen Barquero as his agent, who also represents Rodri.
Alvarez reportedly decided to terminate his contract with agent Fernando Hidalgo after receiving multiple offers. Rodri's agent, Pablo Barquero, was the most persuasive in convincing Alvarez and his family to join his agency, and the signing is expected to be completed soon.
Among the many potential agents considered for Alvarez were former footballer Pastore (Enzo's agent) and even Mendes. However, Julian ultimately chose Barquero, and the two have a very good relationship.
Their strong relationship dates back to their time working together in Manchester, where they met Rodri. Alvarez trusts Barquero, considering him an experienced, capable, and discreet agent.
Barquero orchestrated Rodri's transfer to Manchester City this summer, a deal that further strengthened Barquero's relationship with the club. Barcelona is Alvarez's dream destination, and last summer he openly expressed his desire to leave Atlético Madrid to fulfill that dream.
