According to Le Parisien, FIFA President Gianni Infantino and UEFA President Ceferin thanked Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi for his important role in resolving conflicts related to the European Super League.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and UEFA President Ceferin publicly praised Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in Brussels on Wednesday. They stated that Nasser played a "decisive role" in reaching a settlement between UEFA and Real Madrid regarding the European Super League dispute.

On the same day, Real Madrid, UEFA, and the European Football Clubs (EFC) jointly announced that they had reached an "agreement in principle" regarding the "legal disputes related to the European Super League," officially ending the conflict between Real Madrid and UEFA.

The European Super League, initially intended to compete with the Champions League, was launched in 2021 by Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, and six English clubs. However, due to strong opposition from English fans and boycotts from several European heads of state and government, the project quickly collapsed.

Juventus officially withdrew from the European Super League project in 2024. After Barcelona announced its withdrawal from the European Super League last Saturday, Real Madrid is now the only remaining party among the original organizers. UEFA President Ceferin, when discussing the Super League, emphasized: "Football cannot be bought or sold, because it belongs to everyone."
