Match Events
18' WHAT A CHANCE! Muller's shot saved
OUTSTANDING GOALKEEPING! Excellent work from Cillessen who reacts brilliantly there to thwart Muller from point-blank range as he was left alone in the penalty area! A quick Netherlands counter is cut out, allowing Germany to break again straight away, but Uth shoots rather tamely at Cillessen from 20 yards.
21' CHANCE! De Ligt's header saved
Neuer's turn to be called into action, this following a Netherland's free-kick after De Jong did well to draw a foul. Depay's inswinging delivery creeps behind the Germany defence where it's met by De Ligt, but the centre-half can only bounce a relatively straightforward header into Neuer's arms.
30' GOAL! Netherlands 1-0 Germany (Van Dijk)
VAN DIJK BREAKS THE DEADLOCK! 1-0! More misery for Low and Germany, who have really brought that upon themselves as they've continued to let Netherlands grow into the match. Babel does so well to get in front of his marker and meet a corner, sending a venomous header off the underside of the bar, before Van Dijk pounces to knock home the rebound!
37' CHANCE! Wijnaldum's shot wide out
INCHES WIDE! De Jong has been such an influential figure in this match and he's at it again here making a terrific run through the heart of midfield, fending off defenders before laying it off for Bergwijn, who just shoots wide from 25 yards!
38' CLOSE! Muller's shot wide out
CLOSE! A warning from Germany, who show there how quickly they can get back into this match, despite the current feeling inside the ground. Muller gets on the end of a quick, clinical counter and has a clean sight of goal from 12 yards, but just misses at the near post!
45' GREAT HEADER! Depay's effort wide out
NEARLY THERE! With virtually the last touch of the first half Depay glances a terrific header inches wide of the far post on the end of a wonderful cross from Dumfries!
48' NICE TRY! Dumfries' shot saved
Germany come out of the gate with a bit more urgency, needing to find a way to settle their side down and halt Netherlands' momentum. A decent attack down the left flank results in an encouraging ball in for Muller, but Blind does really well to snuff it out and help the ball back safely to Cillessen.
64' MISS! Sane's shot wide out
SHOCKING MISS! Best chance of the night bar none for Germany, as Sane escapes the poor marking of De Roon to run onto the end of an excellent Kimmich throughball, and he has Cillessen at his mercy, but rolls an effort wide of the far post from eight yards!
86' GOAL! Netherlands 2-0 Germany (Depay)
THERE IT IS! 2-0 NETHERLANDS! Finally the hosts take their chance on the break, with a lovely dink over the top playing Promes through down the right, and he does well to pick out a cross for Depay, who shows great composure to wait out Neuer before picking out the top corner!
90+3' GOAL! Netherlands 3-0 Germany (Wijnaldum)
IT'S A PARTY IN AMSTERDAM! 3-0! An absolutely stunning individual effort from Wijnaldum as he skips around a defender, bursts into the area and drives a low finish into the bottom corner with Neuer rooted to his spot! They're rubbing salt in the wounds now!
Match Report
Virgil van Dijk, Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum all scored to earn Netherlands a 3-0 win over Germany and left Joachim Low's men still without a win or a goal in the Nations League.
Liverpool defender Van Dijk pounced to nod home the loose ball on the half-hour mark after Ryan Babel had struck the crossbar with a header following a corner from Depay.
Germany had chances to grab a leveller after the break, with substitute Leroy Sane steering a glorious opportunity wide.
They were also denied what appeared to be a clear-cut penalty in the final 10 minutes when Arnaut Groeneveld tripped Matthias Ginter.
However, Depay added an 86th-minute second on the counter-attack and Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum rifled in a third in stoppage time, securing Oranje's biggest ever win over Germany.
It leaves Low's side in danger of relegation in League A Group 1, of which they are bottom, having drawn 0-0 with France in their first game.
