New 120kg Ronaldo statue unveiled - and it's made entirely of CHOCOLATE!

Juventus and Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been turned into a 120kg, 1.87m tall sculpture by chocolatier Jorge Cardoso, taking him 200 hours to complete.

Many believe if Cristiano Ronaldo was made of chocolate, he would eat himself.

Well, the phrase has been taken literally by chocolatier Jorge Cardoso, who has constructed a 120kg, 1.87m tall sculpture of the superstar footballer.

Portuguese creator Cardoso built the life-size sculpture totally in his spare time.

It took him around 200 hours to complete in Givisiez, Switzerland and is quite a sight.

Cardoso constructed the chocolate Ronaldo at the Suard chocolatier factory, with the results rather impressive.

The sculpture is of the Juventus forward wearing his Portugal national kit.

Added to the chocolate version of Ronaldo is his No.7, a Nike symbol, the UEFA European Championship logo and the Portugal badge.

It reflects the summer of four years ago when Portugal won the Euro 2016 in France, beating the hosts 1-0 in the final.

The sculpture has an uncanny resemblance to Ronaldo, with every detail covered down to his shorts, his socks and shin pads, as well as his boots.

It is certainly a better effort than the infamous statue head made in 2014 by Ricardo Velosa, which was enough to give Ronaldo nightmares.

The bronze statue was mocked across the world for offering next to no resemblance of Ronaldo, who travelled all the way to Madeira for the ceremony.

By 2018, the head was replaced at Madeira airport, and it is a shame the chocolate one won’t last as long either.

Having been left disappointed by the statue six years ago, it would be interesting to see what the former Real Madrid and Manchester United goalscorer thinks of his chocolate self...
