Arsenal's latest signing David Raya has a date tattooed on the back of his neck that Gunners fans would rather not be reminded of.
Raya completed his £3m loan move from Brentford on Tuesday, and Arsenal have a £27m option to buy the goalkeeper next summer.
He becomes the north London club's fourth summer signing after Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber, and is set to challenge Aaron Ramsdale for the gloves at the Emirates Stadium this season.
Ramsdale is a popular figure at Arsenal, while Raya's arrival has also gone down well with the majority of the fanbase, but he does have a neck tattoo that may evoke painful memories for Mikel Arteta's men.
Raya has the date '13-08-2021' to commemorate the day he made his Premier League debut for Brentford.
Brentford's Premier League bow happened to come against Arsenal, and the Bees picked up a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Sergi Canos and Christian Norgaard.
It was a perfect day for Raya as he kept a clean sheet and Brentford earned three points in their first ever Premier League match, but it was a dark moment in Arsenal's recent history.
The team went on to lose their next two games against Chelsea and Manchester City without scoring a goal which left them bottom of the table three games into the season.
However, they have since bounced back, ending that campaign by just missing out on a top-four finish, before they made the big leap forward to finish second last term.
That has seen them return to the Champions League, and Raya will hope to play in that competition this season as Arsenal look to make their mark in Europe once more.
But he may want to keep that neck tattoo hidden as much as possible to keep the Arsenal fans on side!
